Kilobyte (kB), data storage
A kilobyte (derived from the SI prefix kilo-, meaning 1,000) is a unit of information or computer storage equal to either 1,000 bytes or 1,024 bytes (210), depending on context. It can be abbreviated a number of ways: Capitalized K, KB, and Kbyte usually mean 1,024 bytes, while kB with the standard lowercase prefix usually means 1,000 bytes.
